Dear Randall, “Republican leadership” in Congress is a contradiction in terms. The antics of the right-wing in the House, especially, have been irresponsible to say the least. Shutting down the government…dropping the ball on employment non-discrimination, emergency unemployment insurance, and countless other issues. Here’s the great thing about our democracy -- if we don’t like the way our leadership works, we elect new leaders. That’s exactly what DWS PAC fights for. There are incredibly strong Democratic candidates running in Congressional districts all across the United States -- including a special election coming up in March down in Florida. In my work for DWS PAC, I’m on the ground with them as much as I can be, doing my part. And there’s something very important you can do to help. DWS PAC is working to boost the candidacies of Democrats running for Congress. Can you chip in $5 or more to help? Super PACs all over the country -- linked to people like the billionaire Koch brothers and Karl Rove -- spend a lot of time, energy, and money to keep the radicals in Congress. After all, dysfunction works just fine for them. But it doesn’t work for us, because it doesn’t work for American families. When Republicans in the House and Senate shut down the government, it’s workers all over the country that suffer. When they threaten Medicare, it’s the health security of seniors in my district and around the country that are at risk. We need to fill the halls of Congress with leaders who fight for the people, not the special interests. Their brand of leadership is hurting the country and we must change it by electing more Democrats to Congress. Thats why I need you.
