Dear SVCF alumni, Greetings to all of you! I am Hannah Lydia T. - TopicsExpress

Dear SVCF alumni, Greetings to all of you! I am Hannah Lydia T. Bernardo, president of SVCF-Manila for the A.Y. 2014-2015. I sincerely pray that you are continuing in the faith and serving the Lord with all your heart wherever God has placed you today. I praise God for your faithfulness in keeping SVCF-Manila alive. Recently, I have had the privilege to browse through the old SVCF Facebook groups and other web-hosting sites used by SVCF. I am deeply encouraged by your commitment to the fellowship; by your willingness to let God work through you during your stay in UP Manila. You have truly let your light shine before men, and have become a channel of blessing to others, even generations after you. I write this because I want to be honest. Although we do not lose hope in the Almighty Lord, SVCF-Manila has lost a lot of the vigor it used to possess during your time. And in evaluating the past year’s performance, it would only be through God’s grace to be fully accredited as an organization for this year. We have longed since the past year to organize an event to invite you, dear alumni, to. However, lack of preparation and manpower has not allowed us to do so. Truth be told, the reason we have not updated you on the recent events of SV is because there has not been much events to update you with. Still, I praise God for his unending grace that there are still students who are being reached out by the fellowship. The past year, there has been a small group of students attending the Bible study every week, and it has truly been a testament to how God continues to work in the campus despite our human failings. There is no one who seeks God, not even one, yet He continues to reveal His glory through the lives of this small group of students. I cling to the hope that our big God will use this small organization of students for big things. And so, dear alumni, I earnestly entreat you to continue to pray for SVCF-Manila. Pray that the Lord will lead us to be more effective leaders in our ministry of reaching out to people with the hope we have in Jesus Christ. Pray that we would be able to keep our focus on the Lord’s vision for UP Manila. Pray for our physical and spiritual strength as we face the challenges that you had once faced as a Christian student in this campus. Finally, pray that we may be bold witnesses of Christ’s power and love to our fellow students and even faculty, and in that way be the salt and light of UP Manila, as well as beyond. Please pray for our Evangelistic Week this second week of September. This will be in line with the All Organizations’ Fair to be conducted by the College of Arts and Sciences’ student council, and will culminate with the Freshmen Treat. Pray for the willingness and readiness of the current members to share the Gospel, and pray for the hearts of those whom the Lord shall lead to us. Aside from the power of fervent prayer, we also welcome whole-heartedly, suggestions and advice from you. We believe that we must seek the wisdom of those who have come before us. We would love to hear from you, and we pray for the chance to be able to one day, meet you face-to-face. We would like to challenge you as well to continually show your support for SVCF-Manila, whether in prayer or encouragement (for those who would like to support financially, you may PM me :) ). We are confident that as we work together as one in the Body of Christ, bound by the same purpose, we will be able to lift up the name of Jesus Christ and glorify Him in everything. Just like Paul’s sentiment to the Philippians: I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Phil. 1:3-6) God bless you all! :)
