Dear Sir, IHSAAN AFZAL KHANs response to AYAZ AMIRs Article :> thenews.pk/Todays-News-9-255126-Something-is-happeningbut-what 1. Should Musharraf have been given a free chit to go about business as usual ? How would that have worked for the Govt ? Govt is only pursuing in the courts, if the courts deem him innocent they will take him out of ECL or let him free ? Or in this Country we can never even file a case on a General? 2. If metro Bus is a failure then how come not a single bus is utilized by more than 100 % Capacity. Public transport is vital for any growing cities, a few years from now we will not be able to imagine Lahore without them as we do for motorway. These flyovers, bridges in Lahore were a requirement, could you imagine Lahore without them even now let alone in the next 5 years. Now this development is taking place in all major cities across Punjab and hopefully Pakistan. Now people who say we cannot eat the metro or the flyovers; There is a budget which has allocations in all sectors, education, health etc Work is ongoing in all sectors. This comes out of the development sector which PML N spends on mega projects unlike other parties which also have this budget allocation but nothing to show for it. 3. Now imagine that the Government had Intervened and banned GEO where as by the law PEMRA is the regulatory authority for Media, GEO would have gotten a stay from the courts or courts would have put down the Government orders. Now PEMRA is a joke, need revitalizing, Govt should have handed it to competent independent people before the Hamid Mir incident but right now the punishment had to come from PEMRA(Even though it was delayed for no good reason) and nun other. 4. Imran Khan’s propaganda over the stealing of his mandate through election rigging is pulling crowds, where the focus should be on election reforms which is nowhere to be seen, he is just focused on establishing the 2013 Elections as the most rigged even if he has to blame a media group for turning the tide in favor of PML N, an absurdist claim I have ever heard. But Pakistanis can believe anything!!! His propaganda needs to be dealt with seriously, but is this a threat to this Government? I believe not as the Government itself is serious about bringing election reforms while taking all parties on board there is no resistance there. The bone of contention is only politics and propaganda which will reveal itself in the coming time. 5. The top issues of Pakistan today are number one the shortage of Electricity which has taken the Pakistani Economy hostage. The Government has put it as its top priority and people who are watching this sector cannot deny Government efforts and projects in the pipe line. There plan is to inject 21000 MW in the next 8 years. Next comes terrorism and the peace talks. There was a national consensus for them to take place and they did, if they have failed now there has to be a new national consensus with the army on board if Pakistan is ready for an operation. This problem is not going anytime soon and requires efforts from all parties not politics and leg pulling. Ihsaan Afzal Khan PML N. Faisalabad
