Dear Sir Lloyd, I know you are one of the best career adviser in the Philippines that is why I am asking your advice. Before anything else, allow me to introduce myself. I am ____. I am a law school kickout. I tried law school because my parents wanted me to become one since were a family of lawyers. At first I was convincing myself that I like it until I did like it eventuallly, but since I wasnt so prepared I got dismissed in just one sem. Well, currently, Im a bum, I tried applying for jobs but I figured it out that I am not an office-y type of person, so I decided that I want to take up masters in economics in UP and take up law later since I think it will help me regain a better stance in finding a good law school since no law school admit kickouts. However, my dad doesnt approve it and my mom obviously joined his bandwagon. They told me that studying masters is just a waste of time and he even told me that I should support my own studies financially (which is not I expected). The dilemma is should I follow them or should I follow what I desire? I mean I followed them because Like they said parents know best and theres no harm in trying. But the thing is I already gave them what they want and it didnt turn out so well. I mean am I being selfish if I want to follow my own decisions and of course, I mean Yes they may be supporting me but Ill be the one to study so I hope for a better compromise.
