FENCING TIPs: Elbow-to-Inside-of-Ankle Lunge Another variation of the lunge is for added hip flexibility, hamstring strength and stretching out the lower back. Similar to the Backward and Forward Lunge walk, but add a reach of the torso forwards over your front leg. If the right leg is in front of you, you take the right elbow down toward the inside of the right ankle. Keep the back leg and torso straight, bending over and down.
