Dear StarSat Subscriber, • On 1 November 2013, TopTV began the changeover to a new brand, StarSat. StarSat is a digital satellite TV brand, operating in the South African market, offering a multitude of channels available in simple package choices for the subscriber. The channels include movies, news, series, kids programmes, music, gospel, documentaries, sport, lifestyle, telenovelas, and other. The packages will be priced to give the subscriber good viewing value, and to make digital TV available to everyone. • Subscribers will within the next few days see the StarSat brand on their TV screens, and not the TopTV logo. Other marketing material will also be replaced by the StarSat logo. • On 1 December 2013, the new StarSat packages will be relaunched. The packages and channels will be announced shortly. The package structure will be simpler, and the prices will offer great value for money, and many more channels than were previously on TopTV. • Current TopTV subscribers will be switched to the new package that most closely matches their current package. This will take place on a date to be advised soon. Subscribers should check their bmail messages for further information. Should they wish to change this choice of package, they should call the Call Centre on 086 086 STAR. • The new StarSat decoder is fully HD. Existing or lapsed TopTV subscribers will be able to receive the StarSat signal on the TopTV decoder. If the subscriber already has a TopTV installation, he/she will be able to simply replace the TopTV decoder with a StarSat decoder, into the existing installation. Decoder prices are as follows: o StarSat HD decoder with full installation: R599 o StarSat HD decoder with no installation: R300 o TopTV decoder with no installation: R299 o TopTV decoder with full installation R399 • Prepaid vouchers • The Prepaid vouchers are consumed in terms of their value, like cell phone air time, and do not relate to the cost of the package. So, for example, if you buy the R279 voucher and are on the StarSat Super package (R199 per month), then the voucher will expire at the end of the R279 value of TV viewing time. • The Prepaid voucher prices are subject to change. • Retail outlets for purchase of the StarSat decoder will be announced shortly. In the meantime, customers can arrange for free home delivery and installation: o Calling the Call Centre at 086 086 STAR o Sending an SMS with the word ‘STAR’ to 40004 and an agent will call back. • On 1 January 2014, StarSat will offer over 100 channels.
