Dear Supreme Court: Are you impaired? Scientology does not believe in psychiatric care. What if you child needs expensive medications due to having Downs Syndrome or organic brain injuries? The Christian Scientists, the church in which I was raised, does not believe in blood transfusions, which save thousands and thousands of lives each year. The LDS does not believe in caffeine and hardly would accept medications that elevate certain blood pressure problems. There are many examples such as this. What about AIDS medication? Should a hard core Christian church owned corporation be allowed to interfere with that because they argue it promotes a gay lifestyle? What about a woman who has cancer and five months to live and has to make sure she doesnt get pregnant before she dies? And only an IUD is safe for her due to her illness? This ruling flies in the face of the our constitutional right to religious freedom, it does not protect religious freedom, it threatens it.
