Dear Team Directors and Fellow Teachers, WE FAILED.... Social dancing is continually on the decline, WE ARE FAILING... - Team members arent social dancing at the congress and when they do, they are stationed at the ELITE corner with invisible Barriers - Students that comes during dance lessons leave and go home right after the class - There are lots of spaghetti arms all over the place - Why is it that the leaders dont know how to dance defensively in a crowded floor? - On the Stage: your team performs dips and tricks that are incorrectly executed and dangerous - You team members dance socially with their performance choreo in mind, wtf - the students are afraid to ask you to dance because you walk with a sign on your forehead that says, I dont dance with beginners - Teachers refuses to teach beginners workshops anymore...this is why there are so many unqualifed teachers takes their place: hows this working for us? - The very fact that in bachata, there are now Draconian Moderna/Urbana dancers that dislike tradicional. And traditionalist that hates Modernists that Promoters now have to think of creating two dance rooms for each enthusiasts - ????? wtf - Do we continually tell our advance students that when they actually dance with a beginners, it enhances their dance skills? If we are, maybe we arent encouraging them enough - Are we really in fear to criticize and correct our students becaUSe we might lose them to a wanna-be teacher in the other town? - WHAT HAPPENED TO FUNDAMENTALS, FOUNDATIONAL TECHNIQUES, CONCEPTS - what is the percentage of real dance techniques VS were just making up shit? - since when did we start teaching the art of elitism??? I have been in the dance scene for over 18 yrs - BACK THEN, i looked at the pros in awe of their dance techniques, professionalism and approachable attitude on the dance floor. It was also hard to ignore their team members or students social dancing that even woman ask them to dance repetitively.....nowadays, I see so-called pros hanging out with other pros 100000000 miles away from the danceflloor...oh yeah, I also see wanna-be pros hanging out with elite pros cuz they want to be seen loooking like they belong to the elite group AS TEACHERS, TEAM DIRECTORS, we are a walking example whether we like it or not...students observe and absorb. I notice that some of you actually avoid social dancing, pls do the students and festival attendees a favor, dont come, dont show up, decline any promoters invitation because you are only screwing the scene. Still, we failed. We failed to instill our students humility, openness and the art of social dancing. Sincerely, Rodchata
