Dear Translators, we are a group of professional translators mainly from Vienna, Paris and England - called Allnative Communications. We are developing an application, which allows translators to translate short texts on mobile devices. We are well aware, that there are a lot of issues coming with translating on a mobile device, therefore I want to emphasize that this application is NOT a replacement for the normal professional work we all do on a day-to-day basis. This app could hold the potential to fill the demand in the market for short translations, but with professional human translators. The reason I am posting here is, that we are developing the software, but we want this to be after the needs and requirements of everyday translators. I would very much appreciate if you would share your concerns as well as your thoughts on future applicability for such a system. Could this be a way for young translators to get their foot in the door? Could this be perceived as too much of intruding the privacy, as requests would come directly on the mobile device?
