Dear UMW and all Ladies of the Church-- If you missed last nights UMW meeting and would still like a glimpse into what our missionary, Sarah Sanders, shared concerning missions, which was the subject of last nights meeting, then you can catch up on her blog posts from the 11month missionary journey she took called The World Race (sarahsanders.theworldrace.org). Heres a summation of Sarahs thoughts on mission that she posted after our meeting on FB last night. They are powerful: I appreciate the messages and texts [...] that youre proud of my work for God. [...] I just want to let you know that what you do [in mission for Christ] is just as significant. If youre a Mama, your mission field is raising children who know their identities rest in Christ, raising women who dont obsess about body image because they know they are created in the image of God, and raising men who protect and provide for the women in their lives instead of abuse and neglect them. If youre a spouse, you can showcase the glory of God in your marriage by loving and honoring your spouse and worshipping God together. If youre single, you can be a good friend and reach out to the people around you. You can be good coworkers and neighbors and co-bingo players, or whatever. Your impact is significant, too. Youre Gods plan for reconciliation just as much as I am. While Im so grateful for your heart in telling me what a good thing Im doing, the reality of the situation is that while my calling for this particular point in time is to work with unreached people groups in New York City, yours is right where you are, and its equally important. ---Thanks, Sarah!
