Dear WCEA Members: In lieu of the preliminary hearing on May 15, 2014, MSEA and the “Interim Managers” sought a settlement to which the elected WCEA leadership has agreed. This settlement does not preclude the final court case, but instead maintains the rights and responsibilities of the elected leadership until said court case occurs. The settlement for the preliminary hearing is available for you to view on our website, at wceaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Consent-Preliminary-Injunction.pdf . In addition, contract negotiations resumed this afternoon for teachers. At this time, WCBOE is offering 1 step with a $250 stipend for any employee who does not receive an increase with said step. Additionally, there is an expected Health Insurance premium increase of up to 5.85%, which is not negotiable. This offer would not restore employees to their correct step.
