Dear YB Rajiv Rishyakaran, has it ever occurred to you how much - TopicsExpress

Dear YB Rajiv Rishyakaran, has it ever occurred to you how much difficulty and pain it was for the wheelchair protesters who demonstrated at the Sivan Temple in Bukit Gasing today? Just to turn up there took quite a feat in preparation time, getting volunteers and transport with their wheelchairs and walking sticks. And luckily, there was no serious incident at the scene as I hear the things got heated up for all parties concerned. Had you acted on the crisis immediately when I informed you more than two weeks ago, the handicapped wouldnt have had to go through all the trouble and danger that they did this morning. Councillor of the temple area, Cynthia Gabriel: It wasnt nice at all for you to hang up the phone when I called you to inform of the situation the same time as I did with Rajiv. It also wasnt at all proper of you labelling me as someone who likes to turn things into a big drama. You shut me up within a minute that I couldnt give you proper details. Neither you, nor Rajiv has talked to the victim who raised the issue up with me. Just curious, did you even bring the matter up in your MBPJ meetings? Or did you just laugh it up as information from the drama guy? Disabled councillor Pastor Sia Siew Chin, forgive me, but what exactly were you appointed for in your post? Wasnt it to reach out to all disabled people in the city regardless of colour or creed? Why havent you said or done anything about the situation? Do you think it will go away if you avoid it long enough? Were you asked to keep quiet about it in any way? Please dont forget your sacred oath to the people of Petaling Jaya and the critical seat that you are sitting on in the council - as well as the fact that you are in a wheelchair. Disabled senator Bathamavathi Krishnan: Your silence by not issuing a press statement condemning discrimination of disabled people is deafening by three counts. One you are in a wheelchair, two, you are a Hindu and three, you live in the area of the temple. You can rub shoulders with the rich and famous as much as you like, but please also remember, there are so many poor and voiceless people out there who were always praying for a disabled senator to help them. Please dont let them down. How all of you sleep at night, I have no idea. But for now, syabas to the courageous disabled people who went out and effectively did YOUR JOBS for you!
