Dear Young People of Fiji, As we approach the day for the - TopicsExpress

Dear Young People of Fiji, As we approach the day for the elections, we also anticipate the outcome. Many of us have joined Youth Wings in Political Parties and have campaigned with the Political Party that we as young people are affiliated to. There have been a lot of talk, debates, arguments and differences on thoughts concerning candidates or the Political Party as a whole. I find this healthy as we continue to bring out to the fore some issues that young people are not aware of, I find the exchange of thoughts constructive on the terms that knowledge is being shared to enlighten and the provision of knowledge to know and learn for other young people in the country. We All, must note that come the 17th, we will have a Winner! And the winner will take up a responsibility of looking after the young people of this country. Sad and disappointing for me as well as two of my friends I am travelling with, we will not vote due to circumstances surrounding. As I embark on my flight to the World Summit of Peace, I think of what exactly will be the turnout of events that will unfold during the next 5 days. I leave with a heavy heart and mixed emotions and I pray that all young people will come together as one, despite the political party they are affiliated too. Let us come to accept the democratically elected government that the people of Fiji has voted for. Let us joined hands together again and work towards the issues that continue to hinder Youth Development. Let us remain cool, calm and collected and as young leaders that will be taking the country forward, lead the younger generation into a space of prosperity for all. In this Peace Summit, I will continue to think of all the Young People in the country and how will they use Peace as an instrument to control their emotions in this trying times. I plead with all young leaders, young advocates and young activists to take actions responsibly and work towards a peaceful transition for all our young people. I leave with some clouding doubts as to how the elections are going to entail. I will come back hoping for a new refreshing Fiji Government that will be accepted by its people, bringing better and happier days of prosperity, unravelling solutions to our community and youth issues and give the chance to the people of Fiji where we could also be a land of the free. Peace be with all of Us!
