Dear all, Thank you for your support to find homes for homeless - TopicsExpress

Dear all, Thank you for your support to find homes for homeless people, it was certainly not in vain, please read below: The Welsh Government is conducting a snapshot count of people sleeping rough across Wales. Conwy Council is taking part in this count over one night in November. We are contacting you to ask for your help. Please find attached a survey / questionnaire which should be completed by agencies during the period 10 November 2014 to 23 November 2014 inclusive. Please return the surveys on 24 November 2014 (day after the end of the two week data collection period). For the purposes of the survey and count, this is the definition of a rough sleeper People sleeping, about to bed down (sitting in/on or standing next to their bedding) or actually in bedded down in the open air (such as on the streets, in tents, doorways, parks, bus shelters or encampments). People in buildings or other places not designed for habitation (such as stairwells, barns, sheds, car parks, cars, derelict boats, stations or “bashes”). The definition does not include people in hostels/night shelters, sofa surfers, people in campsites or other sites used for recreational purposes or organised protests, squatters or travellers. The purpose of the count is to gain a better understanding of the scale and trends in rough sleeping over time to inform local and national policy responses to this issue. The process will enable local authorities and their partners to identify rough sleepers in specific areas on a particular night. The Count information will be added to data gathered from a range of services likely to come into contact with rough sleepers over a two week period in November (this survey). The objective is to have a rounded picture of the incidence of local Rough Sleeping. All those sleeping rough will be offered assistance.
