Dear all my international friends, Over the weekend of this May 3 and 4, China sent an oil rig into disputed waters of inside the 200-mile exclusive economic zone of our Vietnam to begin oil exploration. They have used their military power with more than 80 ships to cause considerable damage to our ships with six people sustaining minor injuries. According to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982), Chinese government clearly violates international law and shows their unbridled greed to invade our country. We are a peace-loving nation that has experienced many wars. If this situation goes too far, our government will use all measures in line with international law to protect our territory. We have limitations, but we will stand up to any Chinese aggression. We cherish every moment of peace, we hope peace loving people around the world will join us and support us in the protest against Chinas provocation in order to return peace and stability to Vietnam & Asean area.
