If the President does not sign the bill, it will NOT become law. The clock is ticking - ACT NOW! Ukraine Freedom Support Act of 2014 passed (kinda) in House yesterday. Instead of voting for it as H.R. 5782 (exact copy of senates S2828), House created a new bill H.R. 5859, which is not as good as S2828. Nevertheless they voted YES. This new H.R.5859 has two main differences 1) it removes the mention of naming Ukraine as non-Nato ally of US. House said that its the prerogative of the President and his administration to decide who is US ally. So there is still a chance (but small) that Obama can assign this status to Ukraine on his own. 2) Less sanctions against Russia But all other good points are preserved: 1) Still good sanctions against Russia 2) Defensive military help to Ukraine Both, Senators and Representatives, supported this bill almost unanimously, good! Now Obama needs to sign this bill. Its time to start contact the President to make sure he does!
