Dear everyone in Avon Harmony, It was an absolute pleasure to meet you on Saturday and hear your lovely sound. The energy was incredible and I hope we get to see you again soon! As we mentioned briefly after our set, in April 2015, were hoping to go on our first tour to the East Coast of America, visiting and collaborating with some of the best collegiate groups in America, from universities such as Princeton, Harvard and Yale, and working on strengthening international connections with Exeter University. We’ll also be holding workshops in schools, singing in public performances and charity events, and meeting the greatest university groups in the world when we compete in the “International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella”. Getting twelve guys across the Pond is always going to be a financial challenge, not to mention a complicated logistical undertaking! However, we have some funding from Exeter University, and we’ve committed ourselves to raising the rest of the money, with previous Edinburgh Fringe revenue, album sales and professional gig profits already in the bank. Weve also assembled a team of dedicated tour organisers, with plenty of experience in planning our previous trips and Edinburgh Fringe shows, and who have contacts in American and British groups. We are confident that we can make this tour a reality and show the world what a cappella from Devon sounds like! If you feel like making a contribution to this project, that would be wonderful. I would stress though, that I wont be offended at all if you dont want to contribute - its approaching Christmas and focus is with family! But any donation would be gratefully received.
