Dear family, friends, old familiar faces & those who fit somewhere - TopicsExpress

Dear family, friends, old familiar faces & those who fit somewhere in between, For a long time I’ve let society tell me who I should be. I’ve kept up with the latest trends, grown accustom to things I don’t need, constantly adjusted my life to fit the technological and social norms, and quieted my desires to be different. I’ve said I want to create a life worth sharing but I believe our culture is so caught up on the sharing aspect, the posting of our lives, that we are rarely fully in a moment. This constant seeking of gratification is keeping us from falling so in love with our own lives that we no longer need it. Personally, I crave a much simpler way of being. My mind has tossed around the idea of leaving facebook for some time now; fully quitting the complexities it can bring. I think of all the times I’ve wandered into the depths of nature, leaving society and all its manipulative ways behind. It was in those moments where I felt so alive. I wasn’t connected to my social network of ‘friends’, but I was so intensely connected to something that was far greater. It’s true, facebook does bring a quantity of interactions, but so often it takes away from the quality of our interactions. I do think there’s something beautiful about being able to share your life and adventures with those who aren’t able to come along with you however. But as for me, facebook simply isn’t the way I want to do it anymore so within the next few days Ill be closing my account. I’ve started a blog to share both photos & stories of my journeys, and my writing (or jumbled pieces of my heart that I like to consider writing). Ive just started to get it going so for now its a little on the empty side but here it is anyways: xmessageinabottlex.weebly/ Wishing you all the best on wherever your lives take you! It’s just time for me to go and fully live mine x
