Dear fellow libertarians, let me say few things about secession, freedom and Crimea. 1. Occupation is not secession. As simple as that. 2. Referendum with no possibility to make sure that it will reflect the will of people is illegitimate (no possibility for observers, no possibility for the free expression of opinion, foreign military in abundance everywhere, and all other following consequences). 3. Not everything what is happening in the world is organised by CIA. I know the level of american arrogance. But, believe me, people in my home country Lithuania were strong enough to get organised against Soviet empire. People in Ukraine were strong enough to get organised as well against their corrupt foreign influenced government. 4. Sometimes fascists call others as fascists. Putin is defending interests of Russian speaking population (I have heard of someone defending interests of Germans abroad...). If power is captured by fascists in Ukraine, how would you describe active Jewish participation in these efforts? 5. You do not have to support US intervention to defend others against Putin. But it does not mean that you have to endorse current Russia for kicking US out of Ukraine (as in the famous stupid cartoon shared also by prominent libertarians, including Lew Rockwell). 6. When you rely on any news from Russian official media (as Ron Paul often does), do remember that these channels are publicly owned, publicly financed, and their goal is not to inform, but to brainwash. 7. When you comment on Russias activity in the neighboring countries, you may always ask for some advice from libertarians in the region.
