Dear friends, After few weeks of negative news, rumors and gossiping I am pleased to advise some positive facts. All border are still open, you can review below info to ensure a safe and joyful stay in Thailand. 1. After the 12th August 2014 it is no problem to apply for new Visa at any Royal Thai Embassy. There are still weekly trips to Vientiane/Laos. You can apply for Single Entry or Double Entry Tourist Visa or any Non Immigrant Visa. 2. There are daily trips to Ban Laem/Cambodia at early morning, however some restriction apply. As a new comer you can go TWICE to the border and enter Thailand without a visa. If you have a valid visa you have no problem whatsoever to reenter Thailand. Just double check validity of your visa. If you just come off from a visa you can also enter Thailand TWICE without visa. 3. Blacklisting for overstay, has been submitted for approval to the Ministry of Interior, the new rule might come into effect 2 month after approval. It is still OK to clear the overstay at the border in Nong Khai and you can apply for Visa at Thai Embassy in Vientiane/Laos. 4. If you plan to stay long time and are not able to get Work Permit you can still consider ‘Student’ Visa 5. If you are over 50 years of age and plan to stay long time you can can still apply for a ‘Retirement’ Visa. 6. If you married, you can still apply for a ‘Thai Wife’ Visa.
