Dear friends, It has become crystal clear of late that my opponent and I have drastically different priorities in this campaign. As your Representative in Congress, I’ve been focused on lowering energy costs for Missouri’s working families, small businesses, and farmers by pushing back against the EPA’s onerous, price-raising regulations. I’ve fought for Missouri agriculture with my work on the farm bill and for Missouri jobs and small businesses with my work on the budget committee to try to create an environment in which jobs can be created. As a member of the Armed Services committee, I’ve also been focused on keeping our military strong to effectively combat threats ranging from ISIS, to Russia, to Iran, to North Korea and any others which might emerge. I recently returned from a trip to the Middle East, which was profoundly informative about the need to maintain a strong, steady military posture in the region and make sure our allies and partners can rely on us in these very difficult and dangerous times. So which of these critically important issues does my opponent think is the most pressing one facing Missourians? Perhaps making sure government regulations don’t keep our small businesses from creating jobs; or maybe the threat from ISIS? No, my opponent is apparently under the impression that the most urgent public policy concern for the Fourth District and for Missouri is marijuana legalization. That’s right, when he isn’t at a rally opposing the Keystone pipeline (click here for article: columbiatribune/news/politics/rally-seeks-action-on-climate-as-u-n-summit-begins/article_f701bb61-be17-5f84-940b-32e882e3b311.html ) and the cheap, reliable energy that fuels our economic growth, he’s holding a press conference campaigning for marijuana legalization (Click here for article: columbiamissourian/a/179682/nate-irvin-wants-to-ease-marijuana-laws-for-missouris-4th-district/ ). At a time when people are worried about job creation, reducing costly and damaging government regulations, protecting the rights of the unborn, and reversing the dangerous cuts to our national defense, somehow I doubt legalizing marijuana is the top priority of most Missourians. My opponent is hopelessly out of touch with the priorities and values of the Fourth District, and given that fact, is not very well suited to represent us in Washington. In order to continue fighting for the causes that actually matter to the Fourth District though, I need you to partner with me in my campaign. Would you consider donating $10, $25, or $50 to help me get out our message of common sense, conservative values, so I can take that message back to Washington and continue fighting for the things we care about? Together, we can ensure Washington D.C. has the right priorities. Onward, Vicky
