Dear friends, We are looking for partners from Netherlands, UK, Jordan, Sweden and Egypt for our 5th KA1 project – Mobility of learners and staff. Topic: Training youth workers to integrate animal welfare education into primary school and kindergarten activities Country: Turkey To be applied on: 17th March Participants: Young people and youth workers aged 18 to 30 years old, having experience or showing a great interest in the topic of animal welfare and working with young children Date: October 2014 Duration: 8 days (including arrival and departure day) Project Language: English Description: Humane Education for a Better World is an 8-day long training course that will take place in Turkey and will bring together 24 participants coming from 6 countries (Turkey, UK, Netherlands, Jordan, Sweden and Egypt). Teaching younger generations to develop sensitivity and compassion towards all living creatures is not only essential in changing the lives of the millions of animals that suffer from cruelty across the globe, but it also empowers them to become responsible, active citizens in their communities and to live with greater respect for everyone. The course aims at training youth workers working with youngsters to integrate animal welfare education into primary school and kindergarten activities. By means of non-formal methods (such as workshops, field visits, info sessions, group dynamics, intercultural learning) the participants will acquire the necessary skills, tools, resources and facts they need to integrate animal welfare education into their activities with youngsters. The training course will also offer a chance for the participants to improve their ability to find, use, share and create information, their communication skills, their attitude to learning and at the same time it will provide space for sharing experiences and good practices and raise participants’ awareness on the importance of their role as multipliers. The project is designed to have a long term impact not only on the individuals taking part in it, but also on their organisations and communities.
