Dear friends and family... a humble and heartfelt thank you for all the kind words on my birthday! I sincerely appreciate all the well wishes as I slowly climb over the hill . Im quietly celebrating and reflecting on my 42nd Birthday at 162 pounds with my mom and baby Janvier (zhah(n)-vyay) in my living room over a cup of koko Samoa and butter toast. Mom took this photo of me today. The photo is taken post gastric bypass surgery (Feb 2013) and after last month’s C-Section surgery. I was a 150 pounds prior to my pregnancy and I had lost 95 pounds via a combination of both gastric bypass surgery and proper diet and exercise. This means I now need to lose 32 pounds in order to reach my goal weight of 130 pounds and 23 Body Mass Index. I give myself six months to a year to comfortably “walk off” the excess weight. Not trying to look “skinny”…. just grow older gracefully and feel healthy. Prior to gastric bypass surgery, I began to doubt I would ever fit into a size 9 pair of jeans again =) Yet more importantly today, Shaun and I are exceedingly grateful to have our one month old daughter in our arms. However did we manage without her and oh how we fumbled through life before she arrived. Janvier owes a huge debt of gratitude to her older brother Ben Duseigneur cause now I know what NOT to do. Love you son and thank you for calling to wish your old momma a happy cake day. Cant wait to see you, aunty Patsy Morris-Utu uncle Penn Morris and our beautiful Noa Morris tomorrow. You and Noa are wonderful older sibling examples for her to follow =) Boy do I miss you Shaun yet see you soon honey. As they say...Tis absence, however, that makes the heart grow fonder =) Praying for you, mom and dad. Thank you Heavenly Father for your love, mercy and dare I say favor
