Dear friends and fellow facebookers, Today, I was sucked in by the allure of a quizs validation of my intelligence; only to find my score lacking (a nearly ego-crushing 11 out of 15). Feeling confident that I deserved a better result than I was given (and already embarrassed that I even took the stupid quiz to begin with), I was not going to be bested by it, no siree!! So, depending on whether you were frustrated by your not quite perfect score, or impressed by it, Im about to either make you feel a whole lot better, or a little bit silly... Fact: This quiz was written by a straight up moron. The highest score anyone could achieve on this flawed piece of aggravating CRAP, is indeed 11 (booooo-ya!). Not only are there at least 5 or 6 questions with two or more potentially correct answers (due either to oversimplified/misleading questions, or the inevitable toss up between following modern vs. traditional rules) but, as I discovered by taking the test a few more times, there are actually 4 categorically WRONG answers that this quiz will mark as correct... Question 3: What’s the subject in this sentence? ‘Today I went to the park’. Correct Answer: I Quiz says: PARK (um, no) Question 5: What is a pronoun? Correct Answer: A word that stands in place of a noun. Quiz says: A particularly impressive noun. (Ha!) Question 9: What’s the object in this sentence? ‘Yesterday she hated me. Correct Answer: Me Quiz says: There is no object in this sentence. (Riiigggghhhht) Question 15: In the pluperfect tense, what is the second person form of the verb ‘to go’? Correct Answer: You had gone. Quiz says: You have gone. (Thats the present perfect tense, dummy) Hope this has brought some balance to the universe. If not, well, at least the hour I spent solving this mystery will earn me a good nights sleep :)
