Dear friends, be attentive while paying bills in hospitals. if u see unusual amount charged, countercheck it. i have recently filed my experience with adventist hospital. each time my bill was above 2000 , inspite of National health insurance. this time i decided to instigate this issue. when we go to see doc, we are given a slip to pay bill , but this slip contains no information of charges, when u go to the billing counter, they first tell u the amount of bill, and we give them money and u get the bill, this is wrong procedure, i have told them already, first u should get bill to see charges and then u should pay as per the professional way of paying bills. that is still ok. but the main issue is, this time i asked doc, whether all the tests are under inssurance? he said yes. and at the billing counter they asked me for 2900ntd. and usually we pay without looking at details but i already decided to find out problem and i raised my voice a bit and told the lady that i have NHI, then why i am charged so much. it made her make call to the assist of doc and she informed her that i hv NHI , and then the bill came down to 390 NTD. so my point is be alert and stick to ur rights- right for information and justice - anywhere u go, pls do not ignore. this time i have discussed with the consumer help center of the hospital, and they will be looking into this problem. do not ignore issues just because it is complicated to communicate, u will get help in english whenever u want or u seek. at any place when u face communication problem, u ask the officials to make call to the help line of immigration dept- help in english for foriegners and they help u to communicate- they act as online interpreter for u and the officials. they are very cooperative. so pls keep this point in mind.
