Dear friends, please find below the translation of the petition for Giovanni. They are in differents languages ( English-French-Spanish-German) to help us spreading the word and make people sign it! We want Giovanni free and back to us! To the President of the Republic, Mr Giorgio Napolitano, To the Prime Minister, Mr Enrico Letta, Let us stop the silence on Giovanni Lo Porto, who was kidnapped in Pakistan on 19th January 2012. Giovanni was abducted 21 months ago in Multan, in the Punjabi region of Pakistan, at the end of his working day. Four armed men entered the guesthouse, where Giovanni was living with his colleagues. They took him with another German humanitarian worker. They were both working for a German non-governmental organization, called German Agro Action (Welt Hunger Hilfe). He left Palermo, his city of origin, a few days before to undertake relief activities (food assistance and housing reconstruction) targeting thousands of people affected by the earthquake and floods in 2010. Giovannis work, as many other humanitarian workers, is a concrete help, performed with commitment and competence. Throughout this work, Europe and Italy, we do manage to bring solidarity and relief to people around the world who risk losing their lives due to natural disaster and armed conflicts. Giovanni represents the humanity united, with no borders, distances and prejudices. This is humanity where anyone has the right to live with dignity. Giovannis eyes are our eyes wide open to see the challenges that vulnerable people are facing. His hands are our hands, which choose to work for a better world for everyone, also for whoever is forgotten. We do not want to leave Giovanni alone. Let us stop this silence, as required in such sensitive situations, in order to appeal to you, Mr President and Mr Prime Minister. We do appeal to you that all possible efforts could be done to bring Giovanni home, to let him come back to his family and to his friends and colleagues. Finally, please let him go back to his commitment of contributing to a world more human, which is a just and possible goal. Please sign the petion on change.org
