Dear friends, please hear my heart on this. I went to Haiti for the first time when I was 15 and it changed me. My eyes were opened to a world that my comfortable life had shielded me from: children die daily because there is no clean water, mothers must choose which child to feed, kids may be motivated to learn but never have the opportunity to sit in the classroom. For the past 13 years I have dedicated my life to serving and loving those in need- both here in the U.S. and in Haiti. More than anything I desire to help these precious children out of a life of powerlessness and struggle. This program eats up so much of our time, energy, and personal resources...but we do it with a glad heart because these kids are not just some statistic or a random picture to us...we have looked in their eyes, held their hands and heard their cries. We have seen their suffering and yet felt their JOY and strength in the face of hunger, heartache and poverty and it MOVES us. It moves us to sacrifice our comfortable lives and material excess because we know we can do better for our fellow man. THE Mission Haiti isnt some, large faceless organization. All money is handled by me, Charity Remington , Shasta Grimes and Carlos Buitrago- 100% gets to its destination: no salaries, overhead or fundraising costs. I know Ive asked a lot this summer, but this is the final chance for these kids, and the last time Im asking. If it is on your heart to make an IMMEDIATE impact in the life of a child and forever alter their future, consider sponsoring. A donation of any amount will help a child with school books, which often is the only thing that keeps them out of school. I love you all for the tremendous support youve been. Whether youve donated or not, all of the encouragement means the world to us. Please like this status and share it to keep the message going. -Christa :)
