Dear friends, since we started the goathouse rescue page, we havent been posting many shelter animals on this page anymore, but instead have focused on the kitties already in our care and the urgent needs of our refuge. But tonight, we urge you to read the post by one of our friends in rescue, who works tirelessly on behalf of the kitties at Harnett county, and who regularly pulls kitties for us from that shelter - sometimes ones we pick, sometimes the ones left without homes or rescue minutes before closing on Tuesday. All animals left on the adoption floor by pm on Tuesday will be killed the next day (coinciding with the day that the local landfill is closed for the public). The shelter has made exceptions in the past, but wont be able to this week, as the back is overflowing as well, and those animals also need to get a couple of hours to find homes. Unfortunately, we wont be able to help this week either (unless we win the lottery or our various vets decide to nullify our outstanding bills). Weve had a lot of medical emergencies these past few months and until we catch up with our bills and have some good adoption months ourselves, we wont be able to pull from shelters anymore.
