Dear friends, upon sighting of the moon tonight or next, Muslims across the globe will embark on fasting for the duration of Ramadan. As you are aware I am a Muslim, and I will be most grateful if you do not share silly posts or nudity on my time line, for the duration and beyond. The month of Ramadan is a month for us to clean up our acts for the better; a sacred month that is best utilized in the worship of our Maker. A month in which we refrain from eating and drinking during the day as a way of showing our devotion to our creator; and practice total abstinence from all that is unlawful and has been forbidden for us, e.g. fornication, fighting, backbiting, etc. Of course, we are encouraged to live in accordance with the tenants of Islam not just in Ramadan but every day of our lives. However, Ramadan presents us with a perfect opportunity to improve and renew our covenants with our maker. A month wholly dedicated for the worship of Allah, the Lord of the Glorious Throne, and maximizing good deeds. I have no doubt that my friends (non - Muslim and Muslim alike) will respect my wishes. May the coming Ramadan be our best ever (ameen ). As always, thanks and God bless.
