Dear furiends, It seems like senseless acts committed by young - TopicsExpress

Dear furiends, It seems like senseless acts committed by young hoomans are on the rise. It is a disturbing trend, to be sure. It makes me wonder what they have experienced in their young lives to perform such acts. A wonderful organization, the Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home in the United Kingdom, was the victim of such a crime. Their primary goal is to provide veterinary services and rehome homeless dogs. They do so without any assistance from their government. They have a couple of facilities in which they house the dogs looking for their forever homes. There is so much to commend them for, even if their focus is only on dogs! MOL Yesterday, in UK time so it might have been the day before (I am not the best when it comes to time zones or geography), a teenager deliberately set fire to one of the facilities. The teenager is in custody, but there were animal lives lost and hundreds of other animals displaced. I am sure it was due to the quick action of many hoomans that the loss was minimized, but truly, any loss due to the actions of hoomans is one loss too many. Please send your thoughts and prayers to these pups and their many caregivers as they regroup in the coming days. I cannot begin to imagine the days ahead. You can read more about the group here. If there is a silver lining to consider, it is the fact that because of this tragedy, this organization has experienced support like they have never ever known. As we all know, exposure leads to adoptions, leads to lives saved, leads to even more lives saved. Head bonks to the hoomans and the wonderful work they do. May they continue to receive blessings beyond their wildest dreams. Yours in honoring the hoomans and the pups, Lucky >^.,.^
