Dear ladies and gentlemen! I am deeply honored to have been selected as the Coordinator of ACCESS HPW SP. I am one of the few coordinators who have made their mark in the schools project initiative. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity. I should admit I was a bit stunned when I learned about this endeavour. Without false modesty, I feel that other planeteers are also worthy of this opportunity. However, I realize that I should not verbose rather hit on the spot. I am very pleased also because it was one of my childhood dreams to stand and bridge the Gap between Science and Society. So, today you are witnessing the fulfilment of my dream. I cant express my excitement and inspiration enough with this initiative. Fellow Planeteers, Experts, Students and ACCESS populate in its totality, I have the honour to bring to your attention that some of our learner participants have made us proud in the Recent Eskom Science Expo for young Scientists. The event was held at Phalaborwa, Foskor Community Hall, 22-23 August 2014. Over 300 projects entered the competition, of these 300 projects 20 were participants from our project. Out of a team of 20 Competing projects 10 Projects have been recognised as exceptional projects. With 4 bronze medals, 4 Silver Medals, 1 gold medal, 1 special Eskom award, not only that but 1 project / Learner Selected to compete at International Science Fair. It this event where he will compete with learners from Other countries such as Mexico, Nigeria, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, etc. The project selected for international science fair Looked at the effect of Molecular Size on Flammables such as Petrol, paraffin, diesel, etc. I further boost with honour of been the lead scientist behind all this projects.
