Dearest KnitWits for Madiba, I have been trying to figure on a way for us all to celebrate us winning CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR!! We beat global brands Coca-Cola, Kelloggs and KFC!! We are 9 months old and gave birth to this coveted award!!! We dont even have a bank account. We trade in goodwool !! I think the perfect way would be to celebrate our victory at our official blanket handover on October 20 at the Market Theatre. We will celebrate Madiba and his memory watching the most incredible show with the leading ladies and men of the musical theatre - with an additional surprise guest!! There will be bubbles and food, glorious food! Each KnitWit present will be given a gift of thanks from me, which I think you will all love. I encourage all our Ambassadors around South Africa to arrange a special blanket handover for our fabulous KnitWits - whether it be in a theatre, a picnic, concert in a park, in a restaurant or anywhere you think would make for a special blanket handover. AIRLINK has kindly offered to fly ALL our blankets made around South Africa to Gauteng so that we can display each and every one of them at the feet of Madiba at the Union Buildings in February, where we will cover the grounds with a SEA OF COLOUR and take that ICONIC photograph from the air - and hopefully beat the world record!!! They will also return the blankets to their place of origin - so that we will be able to distribute to those less fortunate when the cold strikes next year. Isnt this wonderful news?! Have a fantastic weekend! I did not know that yesterday was INTERNATIONAL CROCHET DAY!! So I will be making up for it by crocheting a LOT this weekend.
