Dearest family and friends, Eleanor is settling in here at UWMC - TopicsExpress

Dearest family and friends, Eleanor is settling in here at UWMC where she will be doing inpatient rehab for a while. We are so grateful they had a room open up and that she has been given this opportunity. Eleanor continues to make steady progress. She is getting stronger, more steady on her feet, made 3 laps walking the hall today (with the aid of a walker), she ate some sun-dried tomato spinach linguine for dinner (her first substantial food since the accident.) The reality of what she has been through, where she is at, and whats ahead of her is starting to sink in a little more (for Eleanor and for all of us.) Feelings of fear and anxiety, a sense of being overwhelmed, and uncertainty about the future linger. Tears have been sown...In the midst of it all I continue to be so grateful for what we have instead of focusing on the deficits, that we expect in time will be regained, but in order to honor our pain, loss is mourned, and as Jesus says we are blessed, and we are comforted. Your love has been such a comfort. Tangible acts of kindness and support come everyday. We are in awe. When I feel fear trying to creep in this verse comes to mind, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Thank you again for all the amazing love and support youve shown and for keeping us, our dear Eleanor, in your thoughts and prayers. You help us be strong. Much love, grace and peace to each of you!
