Death Penalty — The death penalty is cruel and inhumane. It also costs more to execute an inmate than it does to house them for the rest of their life. The judicial system is imperfect. Sometimes the guilty walk, and the innocent get sent away. If one innocent person is executed, it is too many. The root word of penitentiary is penance. It was meant to be a place for prayer and reflection, not revenge. Many countries have abolished the death penalty, and The United States should be no different. The hypocrisy is incredible — we tell people it is wrong to kill, and then punish them by killing them.
