Death toll soars to 104 in Peshawar terror attack: President, PM condole PESHAWAR Dec 16 The number of death toll in a terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar has risen to one hundred and four including eighty-four students. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak told news-men in Peshawar this afternoon that over eighty children have also been injured and they have been admitted to Lady Reading Hospital and Combined Military Hospital Peshawar. He said that two terrorists have been killed by the security forces while another terrorist exploded himself. The terrorists were wearing uniform of Frontier Corps. The Chief Minister has announced three days mourning over this tragic incident. According to reports some of the terrorists are still inside the school holding the staff and children hostage. Security forces have encircled the premises of the school to ensure safe recovery of the children and the staff. President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the terror attack in Peshawar. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed the federal and provincial authorities to ensure that everyone inside the school is rescued safely. The President expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in the attack. The President also expressed deep sympathies with the bereaved families. President Mamnoon Hussain directed the authorities concerned to provide the best medical assistance to the injured. He also reiterated that such coward attacks cannot deter the resolve and morale of Pakistani nation adding that operation against militants would continue till the elimination of last terrorist. The Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mushtaq Ghani has said that security of all other educational institution has been enhanced. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), most of the children and staff have been rescued. It further stated that the exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists is still continuing.
