Debate: Gay Marriage? (White vs Bradshaw) Good debate and commentaries, questions by both men, but it comes down to this: Jesus bore the wrath of God for all sinners, God defines sin, He alone is righteous, and the Holy Spirit will not oppose Gods Word. The gospel of Christ is given to those who have given up their claims on any of their own rightness in opposition to Gods standard, who make no defense of their sin and imperfections, who can stand before the Judge of all men with mouth closed, head bowed in submission and accept accountability for their own transgressions, receive their just verdict. If any man still has any justification for his deviation from the law, has reinterpreted things to bend in His own favor, in other words, looking for some nonexistent loophole to justify his particular tendency or predilection to err, he will be subject to bear Gods condemnation and wrath. Christs atonement for sin is freely given, but came with a very great price to Jesus. We must accept accept Gods ultimate truth as the only standard to aspire to, but realize none of us has any way around that truth. When we decide to believe our feelings and thoughts as higher than Gods, as from the beginning, there will exist an unsurpassable rift betwixt ourselves and God, and we forfeit, will not receive pardon through Christs gift of salvation. We will have to trust in our own power and righteousness to plead our case before God. Tough truth, tough love. Christians need to know Gods Word, trust in Him, not lean unto their own reasoning.
