Debit or Credit Card Automated Phone Scam--Dont give our your information. All three Fairbury banks are reporting that numerous customers in the Fairbury area have received automated phone calls this morning stating their debit or credit cards have been inactivated or something to that effect. They are either given an 800 number to call or instructed to press 1, at which time they are asked for their card number and pin number. Once they obtain those numbers, they will create a card for fraudulent purposes. Banks will not use automated systems to contact their customers. We remind everyone, to protect their accounts, hang up and do not give out this information.
