I am so appreciative of neighbors who generously give their time and expertise to work with students in our schools. It is clear that you have a passion for the work and care deeply about the students Principal at Rhode Island School - 2012 "John is an asset to our school community. John contacted me to run a mural club as a part of our after school programs. John has done far more than that for our school community. To begin with, he met with a group of 10 students and instructed them in what a mural is and worked through the process of creating the plan for a mural within our school. He then met with the students two afternoons a week to create the mural within the school. His work her at the school has blossomed into so much more than just an after school program. John has volunteered his time at the school almost daily. He come in to prepare the mural and sketch out the background so that is is ready for the students. He has coordinated donations for the supplies for the whole project. Most of all, he has been a mentor to our students. His smile and enthusiasm has spread throughout the 3-5th grade classrooms. The students talk about the art as they walk down the hall and they have a renewed pride for belonging to the Robert F. Kennedy School. John is a wonderful, male role model for our students. He takes the time develop a relationship with the students and that relationship has focused the students on their personal achievement. I would recommend John to anyone that is looking for a dependable, caring, professional mentor for their students. Someone that will go above and beyond to guide students to be successful. It has truly been a pleasure having him join our community "
