Debriefing: Today we had a smaller group show up but really feel like we got a lot done.Representatives from Off The Wall Divers, Eden Rock, Don Fosters, Ocean Frontiers and Sunset House along with a few resident divers really put a dent into sorting out the live corals. The milk crates with yellow tape on them are being used to hold the live coral until we can start securing it back to the reef (soon we hope.) Some crates with yellow tape have rubble in them to keep them on the bottom. Next team out be aware of this and know that most of the crates with corals in them are on the top of Zone A. There is still lots of rubble removal to do, seems like every time we turn around there is more. Things to keep in mind: Do not fill crates of rubble completely full. I keep stressing this but I keep seeing people do it. Sometimes less is more! When placing live coral in crates try and keep different species separate and do not put them in more than one layer deep When working around the live coral depot and any undamaged reef be extra aware of fins and silting Remember safety first! If you put air in your B.C.D. to help lift something please dump the air BEFORE you dump your load! Five bags are now full and ready to be moved to the rubble pile. Next group out please concentrate on getting more live coral into the crates and of course, rubble removal:) Thanks again to the DFD team for providing surface support.
