But, some of the changes to the OASIS were contingent on the implementation of ICD-10 on October 1, 2014. Now that ICD-10 implementation has been delayed, agencies are left to wonder whether OASIS-C1 will indeed be implemented. We now know that OASIS C1 will proceed on January 1, 2015 even without ICD-10. Among the changes are the deletion of some M items that have no impact on the assessment, changes in the pressure ulcer items and incontinence items. Agencies need to be aware of the changes to the data set prior to the implementation date.
