December 2, Monday The Battle Of Representation “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28 When God created Adam, He loaded Adam with the whole of humanity inside him. Then the enemy came and separated both Adam and Eve from what God planned for him or her and as a result, every person that was born by them inherited that separation. So also it’s not by choice that we were born in sin, it is simply because we descended from Adam. Thus, man entered into the cycle of death and every one born entered into that cycle. When Adam fell God decided to show man how to approach Him and that led to the killing of animals (shedding of innocent blood) to appease Him and all these things were looking towards the coming of Jesus. Eventually Jesus was born through a woman, without the seed of man (virgin birth) because if He had come through the seed of the man, He would have been polluted and will not qualify to redeem man. Jesus was the representative man. The first Adam failed, then the last Adam (Jesus) came and the same way the devil came against the first Adam he came against Jesus too; lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, pride of life. The devil said to Adam, eat the fruit, it is good for the body - lust of the flesh, the fruit is good to the eyes, lust of the eye and good to make one wise and you shall be like God – pride of life. Jesus over came in all of these same areas. Finally the devil said to himself, if I succeed in killing Him, that will be the end but he didn’t know that it is part of the predetermined plan of God that Jesus should die because if He didn’t die, He wouldn’t have paid the full price and He won’t be qualified to raise sinners from the dead. Beloved, as Adam represented you in the fall, you were also fully represented in redemption by Jesus Christ. Rejoice now because the price for your redemption is fully paid, the devil has no count against you and you are free.
