December 22, 2014 To my friends and colleagues: -A ship in a harbor is safe-but that is not what ships are built for.-John A. Shedd. I want to take this opportunity to share with you a recent life decision. Last week, I resigned my position as General Manager of 541 N. Fairbanks in Chicago, Illinois, and as of January 5, 2015, will relocate to San Francisco, California My desire to relocate to San Francisco began in June 2007, when I ran my first Marathon there. When I crossed the finish line at the Ferry building on the Embarcadero, the thought of relocating to San Francisco was implanted in my mind forever. Every year since, I have returned to San Francisco and made many friends including several at the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center. The SFCAPC is dedicated to mitigating violence and abuse to young children in San Francisco. Its a cause thats near and dear to me. Since 2007, I have donated 50 cents for every mile I run or bike. Its a lot of money, but, I believe in the great work they do. As a native Chicagoan, I love the people and city I grew up in. My experiences, both positive and challenging, helped shape me, but do not define me. I will always cherish the friendships I have made and look forward to continuing them even though I am several thousand miles away. As an active member of the Chicago real estate community, I value and celebrate my experiences of the last 23 years. I have met and worked with some of the most talented and amazing people. Because of these interactions, I am a better person. I am looking forward with excitement to the next phase of my professional career. Over the past year, I have met some of the most genuine and professional leaders in the San Francisco real estate community. Without question, San Francisco is the hottest real estate market in the nation and I look forward to being a part of it including be an active member of IREM and BOMA. Furthermore, two weeks ago, I successfully passed the California Real Estate Salesperson License examination. In closing, a decision of this magnitude is never made in isolation. I am fortunate to have some of the best friends anyone can have. They have regularly provided me with advice and counsel. Each of them knows who they are and how grateful I am. I need to mention one more item before I close this letter. As you are aware, I love sports and I am passionate about baseball. Its my first love. As a young boy, I remember taking the L train from Berwyn to Wrigley Field to watch the Chicago Cubs. I have lived and died with my Cubs, and while I really like the World Champion Giants, I bleed Cubby blue. With great fondness and regard, Glenn
