PRESS RELEASE: DuKane ABATE Welcomes SHANYTOWN to the Midwest Music Scene! WEST CHICAGO, ILLINOIS OCTOBER 3, 2014: DuKane Chapter of AB ATE of Illinois always the forefront leaders in Motorcycle Events, brings Shanytown to the Midwest Music Scene! Shanytown from Jacksonville Florida is the legacy of Lynard Skynard and Van Zant Family. Led by “Lil Ronnie” Morris (lead vocals/guitar) and Robbie Morris (drums), both nephews of the late Ronnie Van Zant, as well as Donnie and Johnny Van Zant. Ronnie and Robbie Morris’ musical roots run deep and like their uncles they are the real deal. In fact, Robbie spent 15 years drumming in the Johnny Van Zant Band before stepping out to form his own group with his brother, Ronnie, as well as Kevin Williams (rhythm/lead guitars/vocals), Charles Moody (bass) and Duane Johnson (rhythm/lead guitars). Riveting performances, Shanytown forges their own musical path in the next generation of rock greats of the past! Shanytown will be the headliner at the DuKane ABATE 28th Annual Toy & Food Run on October 12, 2014 at the Batavia VFW in Batavia Illinois. Thousands of motorcyclists will attend and bring new toys and non-perishable food to help 18 local charities and spend the day rocking out to a great line-up of music. Starting with the We Ain’t Right Band at the parade point in Elburn IL, the bikers will travel to the Batavia VFW and tap their toes to From Ash to Ruin Band, Shanytown and Diver Down. Along with great music, there will be multiple vendors displaying anything from Leather, Jewelry to Hi Vis Clothing and Gear. Also appearing on stage will be many state and federal politicians that support Motorcycle Safety, Education and Rights! Round that up with amazing food vendors, you can’t compare this whole day of fun to any other event in the area!
