December 27. Happy 83rd birthday to Scotty Moore. Along with bassist Bill Black, Scotty was playing guitar in a group called The Starlight Wranglers when producer Sam Phillips teamed Scotty and Bill with 19-year-old Elvis Presley. Scotty was lead guitarist on all of Elviss Sun records, and continued to play guitar for Elvis, up to and including the 68 Comeback Special. Scottys 1964 solo LP was appropriately called The Guitar That Changed the World. Scotty has been inducted into both The Rockablilly Hall of Fame and The RocknRoll Hall of Fame.
