December 4th is right around the corner! In addition to the evening elephant event at the Big Picture there will be an orangutan presentation at the Joslin Library in Waitsfield. Laurel Neme will be talking about her recently released childrens book called Orangutan Houdini , a picture book based on the true story of an incredible ape. Children grades 1st through 4th are welcome to attend this free, educational, multimedia presentation about orangutans. Neme, who is an environmental journalist, an international consultant specializing in wildlife and natural resource management, will be sharing many cool characteristics of orangutans and discuss why they are endangered and how kids can help. Laurel Neme is a regular contributor to National Geographic and has been featured on News Nightline, NPRs Science Friday and Time. The presentation will begin at 4pm on December 4th at the Joslin Library in Waitsfield.
