December is already here and as people are out Christmas shopping, they forget what Christmas is really about. Anymore people are trying to buy the most expensive gifts and some are trying to buy love with these gifts. It’s kind of sad to see what this world is coming to. People forget that Thanksgiving isn’t the only time to be thankful, that around Christmas time we should be thankful as well. We should be thankful all the time, but remember on big holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas when we come together with our families and friends why we are thankful. This month isn’t just about religion or how much money we spend for the year, it’s about what we feel when families are together and how spending time with them makes memories that last a life time. It’s about doing good when everything seems bad, and paying it forward in any way you can. Pay it forward with a smile, holiday wish, help someone with their bags, donate money or time to local charities, help a child in need. Two days before Thanksgiving I walked my niece and nephew to the bus stop and there was a little girl standing there with her hair up in a pony tail and her hair appeared to be just a little wet from her morning bath. She had no hat or gloves on. I asked her where her hat was and she said she didn’t have one. I said you don’t have one at all? She said no she didn’t. I think this little girl is 5 which is the same age as my niece. I took my hat off and I gave it to her. She needed it more than I did. The best thing about being able to give her my hat, was seeing the way her smile lit up her face. This little girl I can tell has a beautiful soul! I did this act of kindness because I truly love to help when I can. If she didn’t have a coat, I would have given her the one off my back even though it is like 10 sizes too big. I wish I had gloves on because I would have given them to her to. Mom brought home a paper the other week about buying and donating toys for the kids who are sick at Children’s Hospital in Dayton. It’s something that the students of Celina High School have started to do every year. Anyways I pinned this paper to my bulletin board to come back to later because we are planning on donating some toys. Tristan comes in and stares at the bulletin board and reads the paper out loud. Him and Aislyn both said they want to participate not only in buying toys for these children, but they want to make the sick children cards to help make them feel better. It truly is amazing how much good children can have in their hearts if we let them be themselves and say what’s on their minds. I did not tell you that story to get likes or to get people to comment on this status, I told you this story because I want you to see that even the littlest thing you do, can make some ones life very happy. I hope everyone has a safe and happy month of December! Keep warm and try to do what you can to pay it forward. You could save a life!
