Declaring flexible dieting is merely an excuse to eat junk food is really just a statement that showcases ignorance & stupidity. There are always going to be extremes in any dieting protocol & nobody is arguing that whole or unprocessed foods are going to be more nutrient dense & offer more nutrition than those that arent - but Ill take a healthy relationship with food, restriction-free dieting & the ability to hit my nutrition goals LONG term any day over a BS clean eating approach. Not to mention - nobody can, recommends or chooses to fill their daily requirements purely with junk food - if you think thats even possible then your so called profound nutritional knowledge is severely lacking; the option to indulge every now & then is simply present. The thing is, long term dietary success depends on consistency & sustainability - how can you be consistent when you constantly crave your favourite foods that you arent allowed to eat? No one can eat healthy all of the time & nor should they. Life happens; sh*t happens. Its all well & good if you want to allow your diet dictate your life - but theres simply no need. Besides, eating fish & asparagus at the movies is downright depressing - whether youre goals are to compete or not. Flexible dieting allows you enjoyment, fulfilment & a healthy relationship with food - say goodbye to binges, cheat meals & cravings & hello to long term dietary success.
