Are mercy and justice incompatible terms? Is it compatible for both qualities to exist at the same time as characteristics of a person, or an action (note that these are separate questions)? Or, in other words, is there room for mercy in a system of justice? How do these questions, or their answers, translate to the Christian God, who is said to be both perfectly just and merciful?
