Deepest sympathies to the families. He will be deeply missed. Bleser, Don R. Don R. Bleser, age 81, of 1804 30th St., Two Rivers, passed away Thursday morning, April 3, 2014 at his residence. Don was born in Two Rivers on August 25, 1932, the only child of the late Roland and Olga (Stollberg) Bleser. He a t tended Two Rivers Public Schools and was a graduate of Washington High School with the class of 1950. He then served his country for 2 years as a member of the U.S. Army. On July 30, 1955, he married Helen A. Suettinger at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Don retired as assistant vice-president of U.S. Bank in 1993, after 40 years in the banking industry. His employment began with the Bank of Two Rivers – “The White Bank on the Corner” which eventually became U.S. Bank. He was known and loved for his patience and sense of humor. Don was a longtime member and treasurer of the Two Rivers Lions Club, past treasurer of the Two Rivers Historical Society, and was involved in many other community projects. Don was an outstanding athlete in High School, participating in Basketball, Football, and Track. Don most enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his cottage on Riley’s Bay. When younger, Don was taken under the wing of Alvin Keip and became part of his hunting group. For many years, he enjoyed hunting with them while staying in a rustic old logging cabin in Mercer, WI. Survivors include his wife, Helen Bleser; three children: Jean Abreu of Wausau, John Bleser of Two Rivers, and Catherine Bleser of Two Rivers; four grandchildren: Ben, Ted & Joey Abreu, and Rosalee Bleser; three sistersin­law: Peggy Beckwith, Aurora Colorado, Ann Suettinger, Manitowoc, and Sharon Suettinger, Two Rivers; two cousins; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. In addition to his parents, Roland and Olga Bleser, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Peter Roland; father-in-law & motherin- law, Walter and Helen Suettinger; and brothersin- law & sisters-in-law: John Suettinger, Jim Suettinger, George Beckwith, Carol (Frank) Mahan, Pat (Lois) Mee, and his “deer hunting dad”, Alvin Keip. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, 2801 Garfield St. Two Rivers. Rev. Kim Henning will officiate at the service, with burial in Pioneer Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers. Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St. Two Rivers, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, April 7, 2014. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning at Grace Congregational Church after 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels of Two Rivers is assisting the Bleser family with funeral arrangements. ** Please note** Two Rivers Lions Members will gather at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening as a group, to pay their final respects.
