Delhi Debate -3 : An Open Letter to Mrs. Kiran Bedi ................................................................................. To , Mrs. Kiran Bedi, Chief Ministerial Candidate for Delhi State Assembly Elections - 2015, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). Respected Madam , First of all kindly accept my heartiest congratulations for being the Chief Ministerial Candidate of Bhartiya Janta Party for the forthcoming Delhi State Assembly Elections - 2014 . You have been an inspiration to the youth of this country throughout . Your achievements in life as an administrator , social reformer and educationists are beyond any expression .I have a great respect for you .You have symbolized the Women Empowerment of an Indian woman for many decades .From your IPS days till Annas Anti corruption Movement (IAC) your contribution for the welfare of Indian society has been indispensable. In recent times , when youre very new to the field of politics many serious questions has been framed against you . I would like to question you categorically on different issues where I find it hard to understand your opinions and statements .Few of yours decisions have been surprising , disappointing and a reason of personal set back to me and many others like me . Firstly , I would like to know your intent to join the politics . Why did you joined the politics ? Is there any ideological base or commitment to the people of this country or its just only the lust of power which has attracted you to join the politics ? Im asking this question to you because it was you who has opposed Arvind Kejriwals decision of joining the politics and forming the Aam Aadmi Party . Secondly , it seems strange that you have joined a political party to which , you criticized staunchly throughout your life. Is it only the effect of so called Modi Wave or of some other compulsion ? Im asking this question because you believed that all political parties must be within the ambit of Right to information ( RTI ) . Is the political party joined by you has put itself under the lenses of RTI ? Dont you have any idea regarding the maladministration and widespread corruption within the MCD in Delhi under the BJP rule from the last 7 years ? Thirdly , your denial for the political debates came shocking to me and many others . Is this a fear against debating an Aam Aadmi or it must be termed as shyness to hide your leadership weakness ? Im asking this question because election debates are prerequisites to establish channels of communication with the citizens and opponents and are an instrument to put your political agenda / ideology in public domain effectively . At the same time as youre very learned person its out of my mind that what could stop you from debating ? If you are so shy in debating then politics is not a field for you . Fourthly , Im not understanding your rationale behind your assertion that an Ex Chief Minister of a State Assembly would receive Republic Days official celebrations invitation only when he / she joins the BJP ! Kindly explain the rationale behind such an irresponsible statement . Lastly , I would like to know about your plan of action to combat the malign of Corruption . Do you have any practicable plan of action for this purpose ? Whats your take on strong Ombudsman Law ( Jan Lokpal ) ? Im asking this question as you are an exponent of Annas Anti - Corruption movement and I believe that you had not forgotten your ideology of corruption free India . Respected Madam , political opportunism kills the ideologies or notions of Public Service and Citizen Centric Adminstration . Truth may be delayed but ,at last it is only the truth which prevails . As you know , it has been said in the Mundakopnishad that , the truth alone triumphs . Expecting a constructive response from your side . Best wishes . Views are personal. Abhishek Krishna Tripathi (An Aam Aadmi )
